Teacups, Teacups, Teacups

Lately, I have had a flurry of lovely gifts. Lots of beautiful teacups! Just my kind of thing don’t you think?

I love the fact that my business brings with it a lot of personal memories with gifts from so many people. I have silverware from my sister and beautiful table linens from my sister-in-law, both sent from England and numerous other gifts including cups & saucers, plates, dishes, etc., from so many other friends. Thanks to everyone for these wonderful gifts.  Knowing that so many of my tea things hold special memories of such dear friends and family is so touching to me and makes me think of them all every single time I use them :)

Here are some recent gifts

These gorgeous teacups were from my sweet friend Staci who surprised me with no less than 4 teacups and saucers and also these lovely berry bowls! What a generous gift from such a dear friend and what a surprise! Thank you so much Staci. You know my taste so well, I suppose because I’m always admiring so many things at your house! I LOVE them all; they are definitely my new favorites :-). THANK YOU LOVE.

This beautiful Shelley teacup and saucer I purchased for myself  :-)  A great find at the Antique Market in the Great Park a few months ago. I was just strolling around, on my own, enjoying the day, when I saw it.  The lady was not selling china, just a bunch of all kinds of stuff. She said she was a “rescuer” of things :-) Anyway, it took my breath away because I knew it was a Shelley, which, judging by the price, she, I’m sure, did not. I purchased it for just $5!! What a find! I later saw the very same teacup and saucer on eBay for $250!!! I LOVE THIS TEACUP :-)

And doesn't it go well with the beautiful Shelley teacup Staci surprised me with? The perfect little sibling teacups!

Look at this darling little teacup and saucer my daughter-in-law got for me! We were at the local antique market again in the Great Park in Irvine (which is held the first Sunday of each month for those who don’t know), and I spied this adorable footed teacup and saucer… and she bought it for me :-) How lovely. I had wanted a footed teacup for a long time and this one is so pretty and delicate. There were two to choose from and my grandchildren helped make the final decision. Thanks to Taelor and Ethan for their help and thank you Lynnae! You are such a sweet daughter-in-law.

What a lovely morning spent with my daughter-in-law and precious grandchildren and I ended up with another new favorite teacup :-).  I have so many favorites right now!

My friend Teri surprised me with this little treasure, another Shelley teacup and saucer :-) she knows that I am very fussy and have a special attraction to Shelley teacups and took pains looking for just the right teacup. I had a Shelley plate without a partnering teacup and saucer, so I put them together and… voila!  Not a perfect match I know, but I think they look lovely together and they all have the same matching pink rim too. Another trio marriage :-) Thank you, thank you so much Teri. What a sweet surprise.

I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family :-)
